Apparently I am REALLY Going to Germany!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

In the last weeks before departure, there is so little, yet so much to talk about!

First and foremost, I would like to say a bit more about my itinerary.

I was hoping Nicole would meet up with me in Anchorage so we could fly down to Phoenix and to Philadelphia together.  Sadly that is not the case.  Nicole will be taking a direct to San Francisco, and from there, will be meeting up with me in Philadelphia, so I will have to be alone on the first two flights... which will be a bit boring (Good time to cram on my German!).  When we both arrive in Philadelphia, we will fly from  Phili to Frankfurt along with 30 other exchange students.  That will be one interesting 8 hour flight.

Next, my BYU German course is almost done.  I just sent in the spoken assignments yesterday.  I will have to take the final exam sometime while I am over in Germany.  But that wont be a problem.  It is just a 100 question final on the German language.

I met up with some exchange students today at our Rotary Meeting in Wasilla.

As usual, Sara Z showed up, and as always, I was glad to see her.  But there were more.  The newly returned Rebound from Turkey, Logan, showed up with his 12 year old Turkish (host) brother, Kerem.  It was really nice meeting them.  We also had Jonas, who was an Inbound to my club last year, visiting from Denmark.

I have about 18 days left in Alaska, and they are quickly filling up.  It seems as the time grows shorter, there is more left to do!  I am going to miss all my friends in Alaska so much!

Lastly, I would like to remind you that if you live in Alaska, and you aren't a creeper, you can come see me off at the airport before I leave.  My flight leaves at around 1:45 am on the 9th, so I probably be arriving at the airport around 10:30-11pm.  I would love to see my friends for the last time before I leave!

I will probably post a couple more times before I leave!

Auf Wiedersehen!

Sarah
