Going Down South: Bavaria

For the last week of Fall Holidays, we went to Bavaria- to a little village about 50km from Frankfurt.  It's about a 3 hour auto ride from Hamburg- but don't you Alaskans be fooled, it's about a 7 hour ride if you go 70mph.  Since the legal limit is how fast your car can drive, my host mama (and father) both frequently cruise at around 220-240kmph when going on the Autobahn- except when there is construcion, usually they have a speed limit of about 120kmph in construction zones.

It’s no lie- Bavaria is a beautiful place.  Although it has fields, countryside, forests, and wind turbines- just like Niedersachsen- it also has more small villages, rolling hills, and TONS of castles.  I actually don’t miss mountains much at all.  It’s nice being able to see everything in the distance.

While we were there, we did some castle trekking.

And Palace Trekking.

And Village Trekking.

It was a great week, and I am glad to back in Lüneburg.  Off to eat dinner!  Tschüss!
