It still hasn't hit me that I will be spending the next year of my life abroad. Every time someone has mentioned exchange in the past, I told them how the preparation is going and such, but it still didn't seem real to me.
And it still doesn't. Maybe it won't truly hit until I walk through security in July and realize my family isn't coming with me. :)
On a lighter note:
I begin my language courses this week. My goal is to complete Rosetta Stone German levels 1,2, and 3, and a BYU online course before my summer departure. It's a lot to get completed, but since I've dropped the Academic Decathlon, there will be a bit more time to devote to language studies. I have confidence that I can get this done!
My family is very exited by the fact that I got my first choice in countries. I have always been fascinated by the European cultures, especially the Germans. This is mostly because of the architecture and the language. The concept of living in Germany while speaking their language blows my mind.
Anyways, I will probably post more as the Departure date looms closer. It's only going to be another 5-6 months.
I can't wait!-Sarah
Thank You God for all that you have given me.
